After a year and a half of planning with my own manufacturer able to supply me with the Hydrus boats directly, the first batch hits the UK ready to be shipped out to the lucky customers who pre-ordered them. Sizes included 3.3m, 3.7m and 4.0m both with air deck and aluminium deck.

Going directly to the manufacturers has allowed me to get every detail of the design exactly how I wanted it.

A slight delay with customs being nosey and a trip to Felixstowe to collect them, they have now all been delivered to their owners.

Now to plan for the Hydrus III

I had the pleasure of a random phone call from Barry Parker, sales executive at Garmin who is a keen follower of the Inflatable Boat Advice Facebook group recently offering to host a webinar to the group members. A chance for him to explain the features of the Garmin Striker fish finders available from the website and for members to put questions to him.

Many thanks to everyone that attended the webinar. The next one planned will explain the features of the Echomap units. By then I should have my own Echomap 65cv which I'm dying to test out.

If you ever wondered what the features of the Garmin striker actually do then there will be a video of the webinar available soon while the next webinar will be advertised in the group so keep a look out for that.

Many thanks to Barry for a great job explaining how the units work and we all look forward to the next one.

We all love a product unboxing video, right?

Oban Jones who was lucky enough to get his hands on the prototype Hydrus II has put together this short video of how easy it is to set it up straight from the box.

From bow to stern Oban gives his unbiased opinion on the design features.

You can check out the unboxing video here

Many thanks Oban.
